Tucked away into the San Juan Mountains is the historical mining town of Creede. Because it's situated at the headwaters of the San Juan and Rio Grande rivers, there's plenty of good fishing here, as well as rafting, hiking, ATVing and mountain biking.

Intact 1890s storefronts invite you to shop, dine and stay at local lodgings. Explore the town's silver mining history via the Creede Historical Museum and the Underground Mining Museum. Every summer, the town hosts the Creede Repertory Theatre, which lasts most of the season and features a mix of classical and new productions.
