Canyons of the Ancients National Monument is located in southwestern Colorado and features thousands of archaeological sites reflecting ancestral Pueblo and other Native American cultures. Visitors can view Lowry Pueblo and Sand Canyon Pueblo, or explore the more remote Painted Hand Pueblo.

The six-mile Sand Canyon Trail is a popular hiking, mountain bike, and horseback riding spot. Visitors are strongly encouraged to stop by the Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum for information before heading to the Monument. Nearby attractions include:
