MISSION STATEMENT
The City of Aztec Public Works Department will strive to improve and maintain a sound and efficient infrastructure that provides for the health, safety, and welfare of the community.

INFORMATION
The Public Works department has 10 full-time employees. This department provides services for the maintenance of approximately 47.3 miles of streets, 44.6 miles of water lines, 29.4 miles of waste water collection lines, 6.0 miles of irrigation lines, drainage systems and retention ponds.

Non-emergency situations are considered as the following:
  • Pot holes
  • Street name signs (repaired, damaged, needed)
Emergency situations are considered potentially hazardous situations which constitute a danger to human life or serious damage to individual property. Examples would include:
  • Trees down across streets
  • Flooding in streets
  • Icy streets
  • Water line breaks
  • Sewer line breaks
