La Capote Recreation AreaThe Southern Ute Indian Tribe is pleased to welcome visitors to Lake Capote for fishing and camping enjoyment. Lake Capote is a beautiful 45 acre lake, well stocked with Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, and Channel Catfish. All season there is a Fishing Prize derby - catch tagged fish and win cash prizes. Fees are required.Come enjoy the campground located in the pine woods above the lake. There are 10 RV sites with full hook-ups. Fees are required, so please visit the web site for most current fees. The La Capote Recreation Area is approximately 70 miles west of Aztec.
