Big Sound in a Small Town

Art Concept

This is a public art project combining music and art in the form of playable pianos painted in attractive scenes and colorful designs. Locals and visitors are invited to play the pianos and enjoy this fun and lively art form located on historic Main Street in Aztec and other popular locations.

History

The Aztec Chamber of Commerce is the sponsoring non-profit which allows this art project to apply for funding or request donations for the piano expenses. The Aztec Chamber accepts playable, tunable pianos with minimal defects and repairs. The Aztec Chamber then provides the pianos to local artists for painting. Once completed, the Aztec Chamber places them in public places so that the pianos are available for all to play and enjoy.
