Hovenweep National Monument
Consisting
of five major ruins that spread from Colorado into Utah, the monument is
noted for its solitude, clear skies and undeveloped, natural character.
The Anasazi who built Hovenweep are also responsible for the ruins within
Mesa Verde. Camping and day hiking permitted within the main park.
Outliers may not be accessible without 4-wheel drive because of road conditions.
Hovenweep is approximately 117 miles northwest of Aztec. |
